Have you ever asked yourself the question: Why is sleep important?

Some people have and some have not, but nowadays a lot more people are a lot more heath conscious and do try to make better choices for their well being. Better food choices, getting more exercise and losing weight are usually on the top of the list, but when it comes to sleep most people take this very important part of their health for granted.

We are now in the 21st century and life has really picked up the pace almost to warp speed. The last question we ask ourselves is why is sleep important. Everybody is multitasking like crazy trying to get more done in a day. A lot of times it can seem like there is not enough hours to do this. So people end up working more and sleeping less. While this might seem like a great strategy to get ahead financially, sleep deprivation symptoms will soon appear and make you pay the price in the long run.

So what I would like to do is give you a few pointers about why is sleep important.

The first reason is probably one of the most important ones and that is sleep is vital for proper brain functioning. Have you ever tried to do something somewhat complex when you are really tired. It can almost be impossible to focus and concentrate and usually you feel really cloudy in this state. Definitely not good for your health. It is also more likely to get injured when doing something dangerous.

The second reason is that if you are serious about having a better quality of health, then putting sleep as one of the top priorities is a smart idea. When you have a good quality nights sleep it is like recharging a battery. You wake up refreshed and ready to go. For most adults anywhere from 7.5 to 8.5 hrs should be enough.

So there is a few reasons on why is sleep important, hope they help you.
